The Certificate issued from the Center for
Health Services Education & Research and formerly from
Southwest Texas State University must be renewed within two
years from the date of issue with 24 hours of approved
continuing education hours. The date of issue is on the
certificate.
The twenty four hours of continuing education
hours must be related to assisted living and approved
by the national Association of Boards of Examiners for Long
Term Care Administrators
(NAB). The continuing education hours for renewal
must include 3-6 hours of ethics. The remaining hours
must be distributed among the NAB Domains of Practice for
Assisted Living Managers which include the following:

| Physical
Environment Management |
| Financial
Management |
Please note that correspondence or
internet-based continuing education to a maximum of three
hours.
To complete the renewal process, complete the
renewal form
and mail the completed form along with the renewal fee
(presently $50.00 to: CHSER, P.O. Box 1654, San Marcos,
TX 78667. Your renewal certificate will be mailed
to the address you indicated on your form.
Renewal hours may be obtained through the hours
offered through the
Advanced Practice Seminar Series. This series
was specifically designed to assist you in renewing your
certificate. Programs are offered three times per year
and consist of 8 hours each day. All Advanced Practice
Seminar Program are approved by NAB.

Renewals
CE requirements include: 24 hours distributed

Ethics. All topics must be appropriate for
Assisted Living. Effective date: January 1,
2006. *Providers must be approved through the
CHSER Assisted Living management Certificate Program
approval process. ** Renewal fee $50.00 payable to
CHSER.
A maximum of 3 hours of CE may
be distance learning.
